Master Sken Academy presents Interclub Amateur Event at the Excel Arena

We would like to introduce to you our Master Sken Academy Interclub at the Excel Arena Saturday 29th May 2010. We will be holding this one off special event for Muay Thai clubs and their fighters to compete at amateur level at one of the most prestigious venues in London. The Excel Arena

Once a month you can also see this event held at The Master Academy Stockport Manchester where everybody is welcome to come along and support.

Master Sken Interclub

The MSA interclub is an event that enables the students to improve their Muay Thai skills at their own pace. Along side sparring sessions which are regularly held within Master Sken Academy classes to help improve participant’s techniques focusing on fighting strategies that are taught to aid the fighter when competing.

To further home in on these skills it is essential for the competitor to feel first hand what it is like to step in to a ring and how to mentally and physically prepare himself to effectively use the techniques well, enabling him or her to succeed and to have a positive outcome when fighting. Safety is paramount using shin pads body shields and head guards. Rounds are kept short usually around 5 x 1 min rounds maximum, the times can vary for children depending on the level of mental and physical ability. Rest time is allowed between each round.

Guidance is given at all times from the corner man trainer He would help to prepare equipment and the fighter prior to the bout.  The Corner man trainer will command and direct the fighter throughout the competition alongside the referee who will control and skillfully direct the fight to help the fighters and lesson any occurrence of injury. There are no decisions at Interclub competition as this is a test of the student’s ability skill and knowledge of Muay Thai.
Interclub are often used as a stepping stone to professional events allowing the fighter to gain valuable experience.

All parents and friends are actively welcomed to spectate as this can help to spur the fighters on and increase their experience of performing in front of the public for when they enter a professional ring.
